  • DIVIDEND: The number which is divided  by the divisor is called dividend.

  • DIVISOR: The number which is used to divide is called divisor.

  • QUOTIENT: When ,The dividend divided by the divisor, then we obtain  the number is called quotient.

  • REMAINDER: We obtained remaining  number after division is called remainder.

IMPORTANT FORMULAE :

Dividend = Divisor  X  Quotient + Remainder
Divisor = (Dividend  - Remainder) / Quotient 
Quotient = (Dividend - Remainder) / Divisor 
Remainder = Dividend - ( Divisor X Quotient )

SOME SPECIAL FOFMULAE  FOR DIVISION: 

  • Inf any number is divided by 5, then that number multiplied by 2 and then divided  by 10.
 Example: 648 / 5 = (648 X 2)10 = 129.6
  • If any number  is divided by 75, then that number  multiplied by 4 and divided by 3 
Example:- 305 / 75 =(305 X  4) / 3 =4.
