MEMORABLE FACTS-4 :
- Symbol (:) is called ratio and the symbol (::) is called proportional.
- Ratio is pure number, it has no units in itself.
- Ratio is not possible between two odd quantities.
- If the ratio of first and last terms are co-prime, then the ratio is called simple ratio, i.e., 2:3, 3:4, 5:7 etc. are called simple ratio.
- Ratio is commensurable.
- The two quantities compared in a ratio must be expressed in the same unit.
- When four quantities are proportional, then product of the extreme terms = product of the mean terms.
- The triplicate ratio of a : b : c will be a^3 : b^3 : c^3 .
