profit% = [(25-20)/20 X 100]% = (5/20) X 100 = 25%, x>y
Example2: 12 articles ke cost price 16 articles ke selling price ki barabar hai,loss percent kya hai?
loss% = [(16-12)/16 X 100] = (4/16) X 100 =25%, y>x.
Example1: 5 banana ke cost price 4 rupees and 4 banana ke selling price 5 rupees,profit percent kya hai. profit% = [(5^2 - 4^2)4^2 x 100]% = 9/16 X 100% = 225/4%
Example2: 4 banana ke cost price 5 rupees and 5 banana ke selling price 4 rupees, loss percent kya hai. loss% = [(5^2 - 4^2)/5^2 X 100]% = 9/25 X 100 = 36 %.
Example: A sells a bicycle to B at a loss of 10% but B sells it to C at a profit of 30% . what is the resultant profit or loss?
x = -10%, y = 30%. profit or loss = [-10+30-(10 X 30)/100] = 17%
